I did a 12 o'clock in front of crossbay and then my exhaust got really loud. I had an exhaust leak. So I get home and take the right fairing off. Sure enough, the header pipe disconnected from the mid pipe. So I banged it back into place.

So far 100 miles on the clock. I broke it in properly for the first 50 miles because I believe that the first few miles is all that matters.

This thing's got nothing after145-150mph. It stops pulling right away. I hope it's cause the motors tight, I mean, I had the throttle pinned. My baby loses her breath after 150mph. The full system is supposed to free up 10 more top-end horsepower so we'll see. I'm beating the hell out of this thing. Very stable in a sweeper at 150mph though. I will say that. It does not shake at all. I'm gonna be passing a lot of squids up the inside this year. CHOW

I'll post pics on Mon. and Tues.

Acceleration
I'll start off by saying. WOW! Awesome motor. Quote me on this. This thing pulls harder than my old GSX-R1000 below 8000rpm and below. I was amazed at how hard this thing pulled. 4000 rpm in like 2nd gear was 80mph weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

All of the power is down low. Every last bit.

you can change that......

once you figure out how to use it properly you'll have more exiting power than you can think of.
the 10 more hp won't make it go much faster but getting there will be more fun.
you can get a little more top end out of freeing up the exhaust as you're saying you're doing but to make that work you need to put in a higher flow air filter and do an air box mod for less restriction.
This mainly holds true for singles and doubles not as much with the i-4's because of the size piston's air volume upon intake.

I just got done doing what I said with my 650 single and gained over 8mph on the top end. It wanted to keep climbing instead of falling on it's face like you cried about but it went in the red so I need to change my geras now.
I'm trippin on the pull it has now too... all the way through the climb

The Termignoni exhaust system comes with less restrictive air filters, a de-catted pipe and a new ECU for about $1,500.Hopefully that basic mod will get me more mph.

gnt's right. Take a lesson from the RC51 alchemists. Pipes and gears will put the power WHEREVER you want it. But i can imagine these mods cost as much if not more than the RC bits.

as much money as you paid for that bike? and you need upgrades already?
I wish I had your money I would be riding my 954 or my 1000rr or my 04 r1.

oh well sorry to here that thing is coming apart after a wheelie but who
cares you've got the money to blow.

good luck getting the top end that you sound like you're wanting, cause its going to take some cash.

a "typical" v-twin makes its max power/torque at 5050 rpm or below. I-4 engines always make max power above 5050 as a rule. A desmodronic valve train means no valve springs so no valve float at high rpm. I never understood Ducs obsession with the desmo since twins dont build high rpm power. Maybe I'm missing something about it. Could you imagine the I-4 with a desmo set up? Unreal.. Dont ever think of a twin in a POWER term, only TORQUE. Gearing will put the torque where you need it. That engine will spin up a tire where the 4 wont. Myself, I would like an RC51 geared for 100mph and under bends, really. Over 100 you get spanked like a crack whore.
