Yeah It works.Last summer, stopped at lights, other bikes were running at around 220 degrees. My bike with Water Wetter ran at around 100-120 degrees. No one could believe it,untill they looked at the guage.I'm still amazed at the temp difference between bikes. :eyepopping:

Yo Rippin,
Water Wetter is definitely a good product, but if you want to try another thing called Engine Ice, it does the same thing, but more. It is made from a different type of alcohol base that cools better, has the same clinging effect as Water Wetter and protects from boil over too about 256 degrees. ( without a cap.) Oh it's also good to around -26 too.
Water Wetter is a surface treatment for the A/F That helps it cling to the cooling jacket walls, especially around the hot spots in the cylinders. Typically, when the cylinder jacket gets that hot, the A/F tends to boil away from the water jacket. (little steam bubbles) The cooling system needs to have contact between the coolant & the metal parts to do the cooling. When it heats up & steams away... less cooling. The Water Wetter helps it stick to the metal parts ( Cyl. ) and do it's job like intended. That's why it seems like it cools better. The Engine Ice I told you about has the same type of thing in it to help with that. It also has that different type of alcohol base that transfers heat better than regular A/F. Hope this post helps, it was'nt too long and it did'nt give too much info that was already commonly known.

If Honda engineereed this bike to run at 180-220 isnt it bad for the motor to run high reves at 120 degres

Does the bike run better with Water Wetter, do you guys feel the difference? Are there any problems that arise? :imslow:

The summer before I used Water Wetter, the bike ran at around 210-220 in traffic. The fan was constantly running and it idled hard. After I used Water Wetter, the fan still comes on, and the bike still throws off heat, but it idles better and the engine seems stronger than when it was running at the 200 range.

2K2,I've thought about that too,but so far I've had no problems.I'm going to continue to use it and see what happens.

Once I move something I have the option to leave a shadow of this topic in its original location. I do this so that people arent looking for their posts.. I will only leave the shadow for a day then I deleat it.

I started using water wetter over a year ago. Main difference I noticed is that it doesn't heat up as quickly in the traffic. I do think my bike runs better. A result from running at lower temps.

I used Engine Ice all last year and it seems to keep the temperature around 180 degrees most of the time. Although when stuck in traffic, I still would see temps up to 219 on occasion.

From what I understand, water wetter and engine ice work best when you drain and fill your system with straight water. NO A/F!!! There actually are a few fan and radiator mods that are more permanent fixes

I dont think you would want to mix in water. Here is what I found in the FAQ on the Engine Ice website.

Why is Engine Ice Hi-Performance Coolant TM pre-diluted?

Engine Ice Hi-Performance Coolant TM is pre-mixed with de-ionized water. The process of de-ionizing water eliminates all of the impurities that can do harm to your cooling system. Regardless if you are using tap, bottled, distilled, spring or R/O (reverse osmosis) waters, it can still contain minute particles of iron, magnesium, rust, lime and calcium. Many of these waters also contain chemicals, such as chlorine, fluorides and acids. Want proof? Take two different brands of distilled waters and perform your own taste test. They each taste different don't they? If water were water, why would they be different? It's because of the varying amounts of chemicals and minerals in these waters. These minerals and chemicals are what is the cause the scarring, scaling and mineral build-ups in your cooling system. Many also attribute these minerals and chemicals to water pump seal and gasket failures.

After reading thie FAQ I think I will be redoing my coolant with it. I wonder just how you completely remove the coolant from the engine etc without useing water or mixing the old stuff with the new stuff...

It must be the other then, " Water Wetter". I know one of them comes in a small bottle. Not like the "engine Ice" that is pre-mixed.

Nut anyways, heres how you flush the system

For any coolant and anytime you are changing coolant, we recommend a simple solution of distilled water and white distilled vinegar, both available at your local grocery store.

1. Mix the water/vinegar at 50/50

2. Fill system with the solution

3. Run engine until warm

4. Let cool

5. Drain

6. Run clear water through to rinse out vinegar.

7. Fill with coolant of choice.

This is the same as cleaning your coffee maker. The vinegar is acidic enough to clean out and contaminants and residual coolants, yet it won’t harm your seals and gaskets.

You guys dont think that cooling the bike off too much is bad for the motor?

Theres no way you can cool the bike off to much. I use engine ice and the fan switch and my temp never gets below 180. weeeeee :?

I am changing out my coolant because I had a nice leak.

The question I have regarding Water Wetter is that you guys have said that it is better for your bike to not start it up during the winter, while it is in storage because it takes forever for the oil to circulate.

If you use Water Wetter which keeps your engine running about 80- 100 degrees cooler than normal, wouldn't the bike have the same problem with getting the oil moving?

THe oil circulation doesnt have any thing to do with the cooling. They are two diferent functions that dont effect the other unless something is very wrong
