In race two, Eric Bostrom held Mladin to 1.6 seconds but he gave up mid-race once they hit lapped traffic. Eric was the only one who even remotely stood a chance at winning. Mladin will double again at Infineon. He runs good there too. Eric will have trouble with the Ducati there as well.

The Ducati will struggle at any "front end" tracks this year. It needs to stretch it's legs to be dangerous.

Nah, the Superbike RR bike ran 1:25.484 for pole under Zemke, while he ran the FX RR 1:27.376. So there's a 2 second difference. But what's interesting is that the Superstock Gixxer under Spies ran a 1:25.340 time while Mladin ran a 1:24.759 for pole on Superbike. So, appears that the Superstock GSXR is as fast as the 1000rr Superbike. I bet they are having some issues with the bike that they haven't been able to sort out.

I read that the 1000RR is REALLY slide happy. Maybe that's the issue. I don't know.

The issue is that nobody out there is pushing the bike as hard as Mat. Spies is sensational. Zemke, Duhamel, and Bostrom have the machine. They need to get their acts together.

I don't disagree that Mladin and Spies are great riders. I think all the Factory teams have great riders. But based on reviews in Roadracing World, and comments by Duhamel, Zemke and Bostrom, there are issues with rear grip

I beleive it's the rider that makes the bike win. Take a look at the other Gixxers that are racing. Mladin has superb skill, and unfortunately Honda has a new bike that riders have to learn on and aquire the skills over a period of time. I don't expect to see Honda on top until next year. I think Duhmal will be top dog and Zemke along with new fresh faces will be skilled enough to finish many races that will leave Gixxers behind.

They must have had a fat guy on the 1000rr........ Have the same guy run each bike and check the times....
