Well worth it!
I just spent the entire day on the bike.
It started out by me riding down to IL/WI border to meet up with Jim (resus), his buddy Troy and his buddy Gary(Nicky310) at a small race track for track day. Nice hanging Guys.
Thanks Jim for letting me know about that. I really appreciated it.
I was able to get on the track, for free, for two sessions in the novice class and that was a real hoot. Only able to ride as fast as the slowest rider but there were still a few times that I was able to kinda push it a little hard. Only two places to pass and by the time they cam about the heard cuddled and made it dificult to zip through on by...Then after a little while I left there to meet up with my buddy to go riding.
As I was driving down the freeway I pulled over to ask a motorcyclist if he needed help. He didn't need any.(just got hit by a big bug and it jolted him enough to stop... big splatter, musta been a BIG bug!)
When I took off I heard things flying off my rear because it was real sticky but one something peirced the tire. I found this out unknowingly actually. There were massive grooves in the road and the bike was tracking wierd, so I thought it was the grooves/ I wanted to pull off the freeway and ride some back roads and did so and when I got on the off ramp the bike REally started to sway so it was then that I had to deal with the flat. Just down the road by about 1/4 mi. was a gas station so I limped it there and got off and looked closely at the rear. after a while of rotating a supper hot and sticky tire I found the puncture but no remains of what did it. So I pushed the bike to the air pump, went and bought some tire plugs, used one plug and filled up the tire. I had like four or five people all huddling around at one time all watching me fix my bike all dressed in full leathers with the tires all marbled up from just getting off the track. Very helpfull folks. One couple and a friend were Harley riders and it was real cool how helpfull they were. Guy offered me his Co2 kit for my travel home and I told him, Naw... I'll be ok.
So on I went blazing down the road.
I took the long way home but it was most fun. Many nice roads.
Came home, checked my air pressure and the condition of the plug, ate some ice cream and headed out to meet up with my friend Tony. Him and I put on 200 miles of some good 'ole fashioned hard riding. I pulled some real nice mega long wheelies. One I did to Tony just like I did to resus with the klr but it was more fun on the rr. :D Wheelied past him Very close.
Funny, how many nuts does anyone know here that will ride all out on a tire they just plugged?
all in all I put on almost 400 miles today. and my ass bones are killing me! :D mmm, mmm, mmm sweet pain,. :D
