Would love to meet and ride with you great guys from here who are in the area. You know put faces to the names and personalities. I am 40 mins from manhattan, an hour from stamford ct but down for whatever the majority wants. I think manhattan might be more central for most people. Maybe meet after breakfast ride for a while then grab lunch somewhere. also if you are interested put down if sat or sun is best for you.

Sunday's are out for me. I just started a Firefighter 1 course and Sunday's are taken up with practical lessons.

I'm down for a Saturday meet. I'll wait to post where I prefer to meet until more guys sign on. I'm not affraid to travel if it helps guys out.

We could meet up in Lower Westchester near I-287 and head up to Bear Mtn. Then we could ride my return route from the mountain which will take us into Pauling Ny along I-684. There is an insanely good burger joint there where we could get lunch. We can make that the spot where guys can split off and head home since I-684 will take you to the Merrit Parkway, I-95, or I-287.

Turbo, let's try to do this before you ship your bike off. Just a casual ride with guys from the forum. You won't be beating up on your bike.

If you guys are willing to meet here in Stamford, I can promise you that it will be worth the trip. The roads we take to Bear Mountain are beautiful. We'll go at a spirited pace but nothing crazy. Just a nice ride to get the juices flowing and enjoy the last days of our all too short season.

If anybody wants to meet in lower westchester I know a couple of great roads to Bear Mtn. How does Tarrytown sound to you guys. it is right at the end of the Tappan Zee bridge on the NYC side and only about 15 mins from Bear Mtn. I am down for either day of the weekend all I need is a weeks notice. Why don't we shoot for the last Sat or Sun in Sept. how does that work for everyone else.

That sounds like a good spot to meet. Would only take me about 20 - 25 mins to get there from my house. We could go up your way and come back my way. Then eat lunch at the joint along 684.

That sounds perfect too me. Are you familiar with rt 22 along the kensico resevoir. We can take 22 north along the resivoir it is a 4 mile blast that twists back and forth at a great pace with plenty of visibility. we can do that up and turn around and do it south then take the taconic to bear mtn.

Not familiar with that portion of 22, but you'll shit your pants when you see the roads we take on the return route. :D Must be about 30 miles of twisties. Then we eat the best burgers within 100 miles. Anyone that wants to hit a few more twisties can follow me the rest of the way to Stamford and you can hit the Merrit Parkway / Hutch, from there.

Last night when I got out of work I needed to put on my helmet and escape the rest of the world so I took 22 north to 121, 121 to a road I am not too certain the name but it goes towards Ridgfield ct then stopped by Danbury Powersports( where I bought my bike) and then back down the same rt. I love those roads!!!!

I take rt-301 and a bunch of other roads across to 22 in the Pauling area. Don't know all of the Rt #'s but the roads are insane!

Cool, you know it. We take it all the way into Carmel. Lots of knee down turns on that piece of road. :twisted:

Not sure yet, I'm still waiting on the results. I'm taking a course that I wold have to take at the academy but along with my EMT-B cert and now this Firefighter-1, I will be able to get on the list of potential hires at the combination depts in Stamford in conjunction with the paid dept downtown. Their delay in posting the results might be a blessing in disguise. I counted out the hopes of getting in with a combination dept like the one I volunteer with, but now it could happen.

Looks like we're meeting up in the am?

What time does everyone feel like riding on Sat?? My old boss asked me to work for the day to get him out of a jam and is going to pay me enought for 2 months of bike payments so I can't really turn him down, but what time are you guys departing because if it is early enough I should be able to ride for a little while.

ByTor you and Fender meet up near the Merritt right?? When did you plan on meeting up with the guys from zx10r.net? If you can you should cruz down the merritt and meet at the Mobil on the Hutch at about 7:00. I should be able to ride for a little over an hour if we meet then. What do you guys think about that idea?

I really want to ride our usual route to the Mountain tomorrow. Too bad you can't ride for more than an hour. You'd have a blast if you met us off exit 34 on the Merrit at 6:30. You could shoot up to 301 with us and you could catch the Taconic to shoot back home. That would be about an hour and a half of riding for you.

ZX-10 guys are meeting up at 8:30 just at the West side of the Bear Mtn bridge.

Is anybody else meeting up with you off of the merritt? And where off of the exit do you meet just in case I decide to go.

Luvfender should be meeting up with me and my guys. It's exit 34. You would be coming northbound so go left off the exit and go through the underpass. About 300 feet after the underpass you'll see a small Dunkin Donuts on the right. That's where we meet.

We usually leave there by 15min to 7 or so. I'll PM you my cell #. Call in the morning if you plan to come. If I don't hear from you I'll figure you could'nt make it.

I dressed for it though... The bike ran 178 the whole time.

Just turned on to 301 and started hittin it, and a cop passed me the other way, he braked and hit his lights, I pretended not to see him and gassed it. It seem like it only took me 3 minutes to hit route 9...
went to Bear Mountain and took some pictures from the top to show the wife, not many people out today, must be the gray sky and cold air...

I saw a small whip antenna sticking up from the trunk but figured what the hell and punched it for a pass. We stopped at the end of 301 in Carmel and that car pulled up beside us and sure as shit it was a cop that must have been on his way into work. He told us to be careful who we pass :oops:

That sucks, I guess I should just take my plate off for the last few runs eh? My rear tire is shot, going to see if I can get one by end of week, if not I'll probably split wood all weekend...
After i ran from the first cop, i didn't want to even take 301 back, but I did anyway :roll: I figred unless he had pictures and radar, I could get a lawyer :cry: I have to pay 80beans for the plate thing a couple weeks ago...

Sat night, October 1st here .. I'm in if we can schedule accordingly ... heading to a Bike show and stunt show in Brisol, PA (minutes from Jersey) - now ... Weeeeeeee!

Damn that show was big, just not my type of crowd :( Yikes ... I and about 75 other bikes, were outnumbered by about 85 to 1!!!
