: Turbo drops the hammer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And the bike too! 8)
Yeah, I crashed! lol
Somebody got the footage on camera in 3rd person. Good stuff. I crashed at about 65mph.
1st session: I went out and everybody was slow, I turned 1:21s to 1:23s. I came back to the pits and I was bumbed. MetalScorpio says, "Don't worry, we've got all day."
2nd session, well lets just say that I'll let Metalscorpio fill you in on my performance in the 2nd session. It won't mean anything coming from me. But I will say this: I got BlackFlagged for being too aggressive and stuffing guys up the inside. 8) I was pissed from my lackluster 1st session performance and I was out to make a statement this session.
3rd session: I went down in turn 11 (elbow down turn) due to cold tires. Lowsided the bike.
4th session, I went back out. Tires were going off everytime I wanted to lean. Man I wish I had dirt track experience. My suspension is really tuned for fresh rubber. It's not tuned to handle slides. It's set too stiff for that. Rode very slowly trying to get my confidence back and waved most riders by as I saw they were being held up by me. Running 1:30s.
5th session, same as the 4th session, but braking later since I couldn't carry any serious corner speed. Running 1:25s
Called it a day. Learned a whole bunch. And got some great crash footage. I will post it up as soon as I get it.
After MetalScorpio tells you what he saw, I'll post up my laptimes for the 2nd session. It just clicked today. I was so excited that I wimpered in my helmet from glee!
C420sailor 09-30-2005, 08:41 PM all of that talking about crashing the other day! glad you're ok.
you didn't detail your bike, did you?
all of that talking about crashing the other day! glad you're ok.
you didn't detail your bike, did you?
No, I didn't detail it. Put, I deliberately pushed hard today to find the limits of the bike. And, I found them.
The third session, I really didn't do anything wrong. I went in at my normal speed and the rear just let go. It really was time for a new tire. I did the FUSA day on this tire. About 250 street miles in between, and a really aggressive first two sessions today that was pushing these tires beyond their limits. I was playing with fire by just using these tires at all today.
Next time, I'm sticking to my fresh rubber philosophy. It's going to cost me $300 to repair the bike which is the same amount of money as a new set of tires without the pain of crashing. 8)
By-Tor 10-01-2005, 12:19 AM Man Nate, after talking to you on the phone yesterday I had a bad feeling that you were gonna go down. At one point today I had the thought that you already went down. It must have been because you told me that you didn't really care if you dropped the bike.
It was cold today. The pavement was probably sucking the heat from the tires as fast as you could get the heat into them.
Now build your confidence back up so that I can beat your ass on EAST with no excuses
gntbldr 10-01-2005, 03:02 AM all that I can say is why did you do that?!. focus on riding the track best you can not the times. the times will fall into place the moment you know your place.
sure glad you're ok and went down well enough to keep riding. major bonus, man.
race plastics pics here we come! wohoo

I think my confidence will be back to normal once I get fresh rubber on the bike. After the tires let go, I just could not trust them anymore.
MetalScorpio is taking too long.
In the 2nd session, I went out and ran 1:21, then 1:19 because I was following Wilson and a control rider, then it just snapped. I dipped into the 1:18s for 3 consecutive laps, then I hit a 1:16 which I suspect was a high 1:15 because I almost forgot to press my lap timer button.
I can't wait to go back next season because I know I can go faster with fresh rubber. I know I can dip into the 13-14 range easily.
On another note, I think MetalScorpio dropped another second off of his laptimes today.
But I was flying that 2nd session. At one point, I passed everybody that went out on the session.
They Blackflagged me because I stuffed 4 guys (2 control riders) coming off of that back straight. lol hahahahahahhaahahahahaha
I'll still let MetalScorpio tell you what he saw. He said I was freaking him out because when I got impatient, I started showing him the front wheel in every corner. hahahahaha It didn't feel that way from my perspective. Metal is fast so I was just trying to keep up, that is until he showed me the lines those couple of laps and that was pretty much it.
1WHEELMAX 10-03-2005, 09:17 PM how much $$$ to fix it?
how much $$$ to fix it?

I worry about you sometimes Turbo.
but yeah...he it's right, While I was practicing a new line, Mr Turbo desided to stick a Bee in his a$$ and pass everything in sight including the stuffing of a control rider on the inside :D that didn't agree with the fact that he pasted him and had to pull him over (black flagged) to let him know.
Turbo get up and go and put that bike to it's potential; to me he was eather Qualifying or tyre tasting LOL
