I have been following this board but not posting till now...I just picked up my 1000rr last week and It is an awesome machine. Got to put around 200 miles on yesterday and it impressed the shit out of me. Very smooth, lot's of torque and power and handles like a dream. I had a deposit on a ZX-10r but changed my mind after seeing it in person. I'm sure it's got lot's of power but it just doesn't look finished off. Lot's of plastic, lousy instruments, poor fit and finish and side mounted exhaust. Don't let the magazines sway your opinion, the 1000rr may be a few horses down on the kawi and R1, but it runs hard and the motor has that literbike sound and feel that was missing from my 954. Plus it's a typical Honda product, meaning it is finished off nice. The only negatives are a lame helmet lock (it's a piece of wire) and no storage room. Hope you enjoy yours as much!

Good Choice. Kawi has nothing on Honda in so many other departments than Horsepower. It would seem that 9 of 10 people base the bike they buy off how much horse it has and how light it is, rather than appreciating the refinement of a honda, especially the 1000RR.
