The day was Awesome. BEAUTIFUL weather!

I made a few mistakes here and there but pulled through on all of them. In the begining I got an anxiety attack on the second to last lap of the 2nd session and lost a good portion of my motor skills from my fatigue and arm pump. (3hrs of sleep after a Very hard night at work and hitting the track is NOT recommended!)

I slowed it down just a wee bit after that but found out I NEED a damper on that lil 600rr.
I was following Jim most of the day and passing here and there at times, but it was the second to last session I went on that I passed Jim, went in not too hot but caught the marker (pink spray paint on the track) about a foot or so wide and wasn't off the bike just right, lost the front, adjusted the throttle, then lost the rear and JUST pulled out of it i time to not run off the track. Jim might have thought I was going to though. That session went Very well despite that object fixation I had for that brief moment to not have myself planted right.
Then came lunch, then the last session...
I followed Jim again until like the third to last lap, then I blitzed and Jim and I were neck and neck till Jim backed off and pretty much said 'go ahead you pushy gnt.. ' ( :P )

so I went, and I went and then I went sideways in turn one. second time. what it was is I hit the turn at a higher entry speed and that put the rpm a bit higher and I hit powerband Right at the apex of my line in full lean and it just took off BUT this lil 600rr just snapped right back and I got on 'er har right away so I wouldn't get rear ended in case someone was directly behind me and then tapered off the pace when I got my dwindling grove back... Very tired and I will Definately be working out and getting in better shape before I hit the track again. ohh yeah, and some rest too.

all packed up and ready to head to work:

btw, dude, can ride and ride Well! I've had the pleasure of riding on the street with Jim, great times, and now it was an Absolute pleasure to ride on the track with him too.
(sorry if I got a lil twitchy in fron of you with the tank slappers and the side slides there resus!. :HEHEHE: )

Troy! Thank you for the light covers!!! Great seeing you again bro!

and Gary, Looking forward to slowing down a bit to better my riding so I can someday ride in the advanced class with you man. :D

Real good people at the track and it was nice to have met some more MSB members. :)

Good stuff. Glad you guys had a great time and kept it on two.

Any video? Where are the action pics?

gntbldr
10-14-2005, 05:51 PM
Thanks Nate. :D it was a blast!

resus's wife may have got some action pics, those will be posted up later. I was just Way too tired to get up and walk around except for the pisser...
no vid either, jim didn't bring his cam.

BUT!
there was a professional photographer that got some of the best pics I've ever seen. $80 for the cd of all whatever 40-100 some pics of just myself!. (I only had to pay $65 because I had to leave at 2 to get to work...)
that won't be in for about three weeks but I'm telling yous it will be WELL worth the wait.
THAT and we are also getting a complimentary dvd from motovid.com of all the riders in all the sessions and that will be in in about 4 weeks and from what I've heard that dvd is worth the wait too. Then there will be some clips compiled and a vid posted for sure!.

So gnt which track is the best you've ridden on so far?

Putnam. But I'll tell you, BHF is a Very close tie. it's like a small putnam and it requires a Lot more concentration and effort to slice through it's technicalness. (is that even a word? hahah)

Dan954
10-14-2005, 06:53 PM
There was something all over putnam a couple of weekends ago. everybody was going down. I just went to watch a buddy of mine. Last weekend he went to gingerman in MI and got his race license and raced in his first race and come in 4th

I will get what I have up very soon. 04cbr1krr (Troy) got bumped up a class today too, and he beat his target lap times he gave himself for the day, very smooth and getting fast Troy, congrats!

No problems Jim, I never even felt the need to check up, you had everything under control very well, but Dude, get a Steering Damper Now! Hehehehehe. Your bike is too damn quiet too, I never knew you were coming, just whoosh- and there you are in front of me.

The photo guy was getting incredible shots, and that new Ohlins just fucking rocks, and it shows me how shitty the front end really is. I have not touched any adjustments on the shock at all, it is perfect for me at the moment. We will be getting souvenir DVDs soon, and we will get video up, no problem.

gntbldr
10-14-2005, 07:16 PM
cool. was just making sure because I know how some people don't know that I run itno them type of situations quite often. yup, def getting that damper before I hit up another trackday for sure.
I wonder if they got either of my two side slides on vid?

yo Jim, the one you witnessed, how far out did it come?

Jim, man do I like that turn 5. you can hold that line forever and you just feel like you are Floating! Especially if you go to a three point stance (knee down). I was able to pick up a whole nother 1/4 twist of the throttle in the same gear when I leandit and put down the third wheel....

Awesome.

Blackhawk Farms is 1.95 mile around, almost completely flat, and really wears out the right side of the tire (the right side of my tire is to the wear bars after three track days there; the center of the tire looks almost new). I probably do 140 (actual) on the straight; race bikes 150? It's a fairly tiring track, as there's not much straightaway = not much time to rest.

Could be. I know I've seen over 150 (indicated), but I guess it's a bit before I hit top speed, since I'm watching for my brake markers, not the speedo. About the only time I look at the gauges is to catch the shift light going down the front straight; virtually never at the speedo, and never at the lap timer.

thanks for the emails with the pics Jim.

here's where I lost my groove from the arm pump

http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid191/peba3aef58a641f438cff0822564adb8c/f1d72349.jpg

and here you can really see how I have to handicap my posture on the rights with the way my bones all healed all contorted from past injuries.

http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid191/p9f65685afc7e56aac75501307c93b81d/f1d7237f.jpg

it's hard to explain the way my bones all healed up all twisted inside but my right collar bone(busted into 4 pcs and shaped like a lightening bolt now) is half out of socket and digs into my throat while my left collar bone (was re broke twice in the same spot) is all the way out of it's socket near my throat. have dislocated both shoulders x times each and have had my right shoulder seperated.

I've hairline fractured both my scapulas so that's good that they work ok, but the crepitis(sp) is annoying. fractured rib on the right side like the thrid one up near the bottom of the solarplexus and that bugger hasn't healed since it was broken in 1999

fractured the top of my left hip by a little one but bad enough for months of pain and have dislocated my left hip more than I'd have liked to. bent my left knee to a 90 to the left twice and have had my foot pinned under a bike once while my body tumbled 180 and busted my tibia

mega mega more bs but get this,,, all that, no surgery, and I still get out there and rip it up. :HEHEHE:

only time you'll hear me complain is when I can't ride anymore or as hard because something stopped working right. :arg:

:D :D :D

can't wait for them other pics!. :firedevi:  :firedevi: :-D

hahaha crazy effer. hahahahahah
