I decided to put this option on with the stock exhaust for now and over the winter it will be fitted with Arrow matching headers and I'll make notes as to the effects of that switch.




the paint:
held up flawlessly. I ran it for 5 minutes twice and let it cool down to aid in "baking" the paint.

It worked.
I painted the entire header and slipon and after 80 miles with more thana few of them at WFO I have seen NO breakdown of the paint even at the base of the headers to the heads.
I'll keep this informed as well as time goes on...

That was the Dupli-Color high temp paint? My brother is about to paint the sleeve on his Micron to match his replacement R1. His last R1 was blue so he had the blue fade to black Micron High mount. The replacement R1 is black with the flames so he is using Dupli-Color gloss black engine enamel. Should be a cheap fix :wink:

yeah, the 1800 degree gloss black I'm pretty sure, I'll stop by the shop omw home and double check.

the gloss black came out semi gloss actually.

That's cool, the semi-gloss probably goes very well with the CF can and lends itself to the Stealth look 8)

1200 degree paint is holding up Real well IMO.

I recently put an Arrow on my 1000rr and it is awesome. So throaty and loud as a mother when your on the gas. Excellent pipe IMO.
