I now work for a local Kaw/Yam/Suk dealer in sales and we get our bikes at cost and I almost made the mistake of trading my bike for the new yellow Yamaha R1. For one thing the yellow has a washed out look to it and a few other things abought the bike like the rotors and some other details that are important to me I just did not like. Thay give me a hard time for owning a Honda and joke that I should park my bike in the back. So after looking at all these bikes all day long I think I love my Honda even more and who cares that it may be the third fastest, its still a Honda.

Right on Brother!

You guys have a new yellow R1? I would've thought it would look the balls, not washed out. Too bad. Are you getting a super R1 LE? That bike will be trick!

The yellow looks really sick I think like it sat in the sun to long. As far as the LE, we did not get one bike and even at cost its to much money $15 something.

I know for sure Im not ready for the 06 CBR1000. It does not have enough plastic, who whats to see more of the side heat sheild at the bottom ? Thay should of left the CBR racing decal at the front of the fairing and not way back and plus the bike looks like a 600 now, anyways not enough for a change and Im sure there will only be color changes for 07 so we will have to wait for 08 ?

I'm waiting for the '08. '06 upgrades are modest. And FWIW, I don't know about it being the "third fastest". At the level all these liter bikes are at, few will ever reach their limits. They are more bike than 99% of riders astride them. It is the rider not the bike when it comes to this class. So give me quality, thoughtfulness, ride, fit/finish, reliability, refinement, you name it, and the RR comes out on top for most measures mattering to me and the real world where these things spend their time.

I agree...I went to road atlanta this year...it was suzuki's main event of the year. all weekend long my son and others busted my balls about how fast and light the gsxr is. but i doubt it's enough to spend another 9g's....so i'm taking them to barber in the spring to honda's event.hahahaha

Im really happy with the bike and the looks over other bikes. My big problem is I have bought a new bike every year and there are alot of mods I wouls love to do but im not shure if I could hold on to it long ? I get really board fast....

Sounds like the yellow they put on the collector's edition WS6 Trans Am, YUCK! And hey, it isn't the third fastest when it is still running and theirs have conked out. Reliability has a lot going for it. At least your frame won't snap :D

It is only third fastest if you ride magazines.

Funny, there are lots of k5's in Dallas, I know Crazy Mark, he rides wheelies everywhere he goes, his frame is fine. Ive never heard of 1 frame cracking around here. wee

if i can sell off enough of my little toys, i'm going to get an 06 rr when it's out. if i can't cover it in cash then i may drop to an 05. but it'll be a RR. and i'm a hard core yamaha fan. but my first 2 bikes were hondas. i'm looking forward to the change. though the R1 is staying to make a run for the unlimited super bike champion in the 2006 CCS season. but i'm going to play on the street some this year too.

A fact often lost on many. It is the rider not the bike in the big majority of situations. At a track school earlier this year I enjoyed keeping pace with a 999R while I was astride a lowly Superhawk.
