: Got tuned.
NavyMac 12-14-2005, 05:49 PM Picked up a PC3 from Superbike Supply and got tuned by Mark Ledesma.
161.6 hp
86.9 ft/lbs
max rpm 12,200
We had a fairly long discussion on how he can pull my bike to 195 on pump gas...not sure I want to spend the cash but we'll see.
BTW- '04's and early '05's (as in very first ones) made a few more HP than the later '05's. No idea why.
Wheelie 12-14-2005, 05:53 PM whats redline? 11? 12? weee
Wheelie 12-14-2005, 05:54 PM btw, the first year model is always the fastest. weee

that's fricken cool. how many hours did it take and how much of your tire did it eat up?
resuscit8u 12-14-2005, 06:14 PM redline is 11650, limiter at 12200
Nice work Navy!
NavyMac 12-14-2005, 08:56 PM tire definitely got toasty, numbers would have been higher if it wasn't at 30 psi on the rear.
From the tuner: "Run your tires at 38-40 psi. Heat doesn't affect the grip on these..." He's sponsored by Michelin and they run the street tire on the front as their rain tire....

about an hour and a half of tuning, an hour of bsing. Solid gains across the board and I don't think one value was unchanged.
btw- his 1000RR race bike pushes 205 rwhp. (!!!!)

Sorry Dude, he is wrong.
I know an accomplished road racer that is sponsored by Michelin, and he tells me 26r and 29f. Same as the Michelin vendors trackside. (track pressures) Street seems to have the best results at 32/32.
They are greasy cold, they have to be heated up to stick, this I know from experience. I have locked the front coming down the front straight at BHF on cold Pilot Powers.
NavyMac 12-14-2005, 09:08 PM I haven't tried them at higher psi yet, I lowered them to 30/30 in the parking lot when they were installed.

I am really happy with 32/32 street and 26/29 track. On a cooler day, I run 27/30 at the track. Very good results!

I wonder if it makes a difference that the road temperature here exceeds 140* regularly? :P
Bulldog 12-14-2005, 09:33 PM I wonder if it makes a difference that the road temperature here exceeds 140* regularly? :P
Do you really need to rub in 140+ road temp while the rest of us have stored the bike for winter :) That's just mean

go with the 32/32 street and 26/29 track for cold pressures. You will love it.

DO you still recomend 32/32 on cooler days?

on the street, yes.

yeah, eh?!!, lol.. all I see is snow everywhere up here.
Mac, amazing you guys got it dialed in in such a short time.
when I mapped the 954 it took me Well over 8hrs total to get it right and almost half a rear tire../
By-Tor 12-15-2005, 04:11 PM I run 30/30 on the street with my Pilot Powers.
But the road is my race track away from the race track........
gonecrazy 12-15-2005, 06:02 PM i run power race on the track..26f 24rear
oopster 12-16-2005, 06:38 PM Hey navy mac.......what kind of mods would you have to do to get 195rwhp ??? specifics please....also did your guy say anything about the longevity of the motor after the mods? thanks
NavyMac 12-16-2005, 10:43 PM Hey navy mac.......what kind of mods would you have to do to get 195rwhp ??? specifics please....also did your guy say anything about the longevity of the motor after the mods? thanks
Mill the head, Pistons, HRC Cams, HRC ECU, Intake, Full Akrapovic. That's about it. He's at 205 rwhp but said that the AMA spec fuel he uses is good for 5-7% due to Oxygen content.
He ran his motor for a full season no sweat. He said the Erion guys were tearing theirs down every other week...
He's building the motor for another guy, there's about a month lead time to get the head work done but afterwards he's going to let me know exactly how much $$ and what they get out of it. Apparently Erion has their pistons being made by another company and they're only $800 vs. the other companies...
oopster 12-17-2005, 04:27 AM Thanks NavyMac...thats cool to know.....i appreciate the info......now i wonder how much coin the complete project is? good luck if you get it all done...
1WHEELMAX 12-17-2005, 08:12 AM sounds good navymac, I can't wait to get mine and start doing the mods and getting a custom map done.
NavyMac 12-17-2005, 11:49 AM Mark is building that motor for a local guy here, he's going to give me a total after it's done as well as it's numbers.
BTW- At his shop he had the Duc 999r w/ Bostrom's pipe that Turbo posted up awhile ago. That guy is not afraid to ride it...scuffs down both sides of his race plastics and some TORN UP slicks on it.
Flightmedic954 12-17-2005, 12:34 PM I'm looking forward to tuning the babe
I am waiting until I am done w/ everything else thought
I'm not sure where to go theres 3 that I know of in town
the best one was the one who died a few months ago
I know there is a good one about 100mi away
so I may just take it to him
how are we suppose to know who is any good or not
you cant go word of mouth, cause there are so many idiots
NavyMac 12-17-2005, 12:43 PM Mark's too far for you but the bike is ~Eleventy billion times smoother now. Go yesterday :)
1WHEELMAX 12-17-2005, 03:00 PM go here and type in your zip. If they have the tl software it is supposed to be a lot faster getting it done.

NICE GAINS!
1WHEELMAX 12-28-2005, 11:10 PM yea, very nice gains, I hope I do that good with a exhaust and custom map.
Niner54 12-28-2005, 11:24 PM thanks guys, I had that done a while back.
Since I have done some minor BS things, remover PAIR, the EGV and a couple other things which make no improvments but I did also made a ram air for it... and some other cosmetic things...
However in doing so I can't get her to turn over now... :(
If I can get her back together I will have it done again to see if there was any differences...
I am on vacation in Lake Tahoe now so as soon as I get back I will be working on it!!!
cbrjimmy1KRR 12-29-2005, 07:30 AM awesome gains, bot of you mac and niner!!
i bet that sucker screams !!
lvn954 12-30-2005, 08:25 AM Hey I have a question. What kind of exhaust system do you have? Did you regear the bike? If so to what? Right now I'm running a Hot boddies exhaust and I went down one tooth in front. I like it but I'm thinking of getting a PC to see what it does to the bike. Ride safe.
Niner54 12-30-2005, 11:14 PM What kind of exhaust system do you have? Did you regear the bike? If so to what?
No STOCK gearing.
Flapper and Filter mods, Full Micron Serpent, PCusb with custom map.
NavyMac 12-31-2005, 12:29 PM I'm at ~ 162 with a 2 Bros slip-on, flapper, PAIR removal, -1 in front.
MetalScorpio 01-07-2006, 07:09 PM ok...that's it, it's time
here you go NavyMac. Motor work with stock Cams, no ECU and running pump gas 97 oct. No ram air or air box mod and tunned with stock bent rim.
