the question is: Do you wear knee pads when not wearing leathers and what kind?

Nope, I'm in my leathers 80% of the time I'm on the bike and the other 20% is in town slow stuff, so no knee pads.

then when you find out how fast you could run try falling on your knees. I don't know about you guys but from all the other times i hit the ground my knees might not take too much more.

Always wear leather jeans all the time, never anything else. Dropped bikes to many times not too.
Did you know it only takes three seconds at 30mph to get down to the bone on your hands if you don't have gloves on? Same is probably true for anything else boney too.
I do wear protective waterproof jacket with armour in winter, rather than a leather jacket, and always a back protector of some description.
But to answer your question metal, any hard plastic puc does me

When not in FULL gear I try to make sure that my knee doesn't TOUCH the ground...

I wear leathers for ANY spirited riding after my last drop but I suppose accidents can happen anytime. I use just use common sense and defensive riding daily, leathers on the weekends :)

yes they are, i would advice you to get the motorcross ones, they are lighter and they also come vented. ICON has a set but they are too hot without vents.

I wear the A* knee guards. Good protection not only from a slide but the impact as well.

Turbo wears knee pads at his night job........

I use these http://www.alpinestars.com/_lp/moto_protect_frst.htm Bionic MX knee I think they are called. On hot day you will still sweat even though they are venilated but you get accustomed to them fast.

thats some cool stuff (alpinestar)... do you wear those bionic jackets under your leather? or is it a jacket in itself?

I wear the back protector under my summer jacket and 1 piece suit. Not my leather street jacket.
