This got me thinking about previous post I've read about changing the rear tire to a 180.Wouldn't this give you a smaller contact patch, hence less grip ? I know this bike is a LITTLE much with a 240 in the rear but it got my gears turning. Could someone please edjumicate me on why you would want to go to a 180.

I have a 180 on my 954 and I have not even noticed a diference however I am not a racer so I am not sure of its effect byond normal road use.

I've gone through a couple 180 Pirelli Diablos and Metzeler M1's and didn't notice too much difference. The Diablos have a high profile and with the 180, I got a bit quicker turn in. I didn't notice any difference with turn in between a 180 and 190 Metzeler M1. I don't race, most of my riding is on mountain twisties. I really like both of these tires. I like the 180 Diablo, but my favorite is 190 M1. IMO. Hope that helps...

You do have to admit that a 190 does look great from behind

I went from a 190 pilot sport to 180 diablo corsa, I could tell all kinds of difference. Way better turn ins. But rememeber I went from a street compound to a race compound and they just stick better. Im about to change the back at about 1800 miles, which isnt good milage. If youre a normal rider not really pushing that bad stay with what you like it doesnt matter. If youre an avid knee dragger I recommend the race compound cause eventually youll blitz into a corner too fast and the only thing that might save you is tires with extraordinary grip :!: Now that I am stillllllllll....... recovering from my broken femhur on BT-10s which is a real good tire, I was draggin my knee with them, I do think that if I had been on race compound I would of made the curve
