My 06 1000rr will come with a pair of BT 015 which I could find little information regarding its performance so far. Do I need to replace them with a pair of tires such as Racetec....etc ? Or I just use them during the break-in period and then replace them afterwards. Any suggestions?

I'd use them for break in and then ride on them for a while and see how they feel. I've heard good things about the new Bt. You might end up liking them. No point in letting them go to waste.

I liked the BT's that came on my 954. They wore quickly but felt good. It was a different model, but try them. No sense in spending money if you don't need to.

My 1000 came with the BT014's, a decent tire for sure. The 015 is supposed to be better yet. Go for it!

Look at it this way; your gonna take a couple thousand miles to get used to the bike anyway. You could run cruiser tires on it for that time and it wouldnt matter.
I used to run the battleaxe tires and I liked them. Actually if Mich hadent come out with the dual compound race then id be on 0010's.
Anywho youll be one of the first on them.

Dude heres my .02 on the subject. Why waste a perfectly good tire? Most tires will handle better than the average rider is going to push them anyways especially while your bike is on its break in period. Take some time to get to know your bike and get your break in over with. Then after a thousand miles or two if you aren't digging the tires swap them out (but roast em till they pop first might as well have some fun wit em). And if you are gonna change them I would recommend some Pilot Power tires. They are AWESOME! I am getting ready to run my second set on my Busa. The Busa is known for shedding rear tires and I have got some sweet mileage out of the rear I have now, the warmup time is quick, the lean angles you can hit are superb, and they will stick to the road like flypaper.

I've only put a little over 100 miles on mine on salty roads too so I'll let you know as soon as the weather gets better.

Thank you all ! Having read your opinions, I have made up my mind to stay with BT 015 during my break in period and to understand and feel more on this new product before I decide what tyres I will use.

while we are on the topic of break in... how are you breaking it in... hard or soft.. i reccomend the hard break in... seal those rings and at 100 miles change the oil, ride it hard and normal for 500 more miles change the oil and ur done

BT015 series are new for 2006 1000cc models like Honda CBR1000RR and Kawasaki ZX-12R. There are a few information about these tires but I heard they are very good. I had used BT010 series on my 600FS and they were really good. Bridgestone is one of the best tires in the world. I am on 200km and nearly finished vax on the tires and start to test the tires. They seem good enough!
