Brad,

I just bought a Vortex front stand off of you about a week ago and as I was assembling it, one of the bolts that holds the upper part of the stand up broke in two. I was in to process of tightening both of the bolts down and I would check to see if I could still move the stand on the hinge and I thought I had it tight enough but I could still move it with ease. It was at the point where if I would have put the weight of the bike on it it would have simply folded in two. Therefore I continued to tighten the bolts down and on of them broke in two. The other one was close as it was bent where the threads started on the bolt.

After looking at the unbroken bolt and the way it was made, there was no possible way to get them tightened down where the stand was sturdy enough to hold the weight of the bike.

That was my first problem, which I solved by just buying two new regular bolts that I could tighten down.

As for the other problem, I went to mount the bike on the stand last night and I have no idea how to get it up on the front stand. I know where the pin goes in the tree but how do you get the stand back to the tree? The space between the front fender and just below the front fairing is so small that the stand doesn't want to reach back to the trees, especially when the stand it in it's upright, locked position. Does it require the front fairing to be removed to use this stand, and if so, then I have no use for this stand. Any insight into this problem?
