Darwins law says you can remove any guards....

the swing arm, it just a couple of screws

you wont get anything caught
it just slings oil everywhere
I finally got tired of slinging it on the undertail & my pants
which pissed off the lady when I then sat on the couch

so I picked up a C/F one

I thought it was ugly too. I took mine off quite a while ago. No problems! Use chainwax and it won't fling off.
