Those are some cheap rates too by the way. A ride in my truck starts at $850 before supplies and mileage. :D

? for those of you who have been to the gap.. How often does stupid shit like this happen up there? I understand that ignorance is hard to predict. but during the course of a normal ride in that area do you see this at every corner? Every Few miles? or what? because if some jackass caused me to crash because he can't hold a line. he better hope that the crash either kills me or kills him. otherwise he's going to have a problem :twoguns: .. especially if i got :brunette: on the bike with me.

You are looking at the very reason I dont go to the gap more than I do. I wish I could say that this is a rare thing but actually its an almost everyday event there.
Last year I rode with a group out of charlottesuperbike.com and they had riders that went down all three times i went down and rode with them. One of the riders on a buell split two riders in his lane in a hard turn. He wanted to track them down and fight and I agreed with him but i also had to say to him that,"hey man this is the gap things like this happen here and if your gonna ride her you have to expect it".
Darryl of Killboy doesnt condone this at all. On his site he hammers guys like this. He encourages everyone to ride on there side of the road and says all the time if you cant stay in your lane your going to fast.
If you want to have your picture on the front of his website with negative comments from everyone to see then i suggest you stay in your lane when you get there because he will most definately give you a front page flame. :coolgleamA:

i've only been down there one time and spent all day on that 11 mile stretch. i never did see anything that bad. maybe someone going over the line a few inches. but that was the worest. i was there in the middle of the week. i hear it's gets pretty crazy down there on the weekends though. cram packed full of bikes, cops, and stuff like that. the thing that amazed the shit out of me was the 18 wheelers rolling through there. now that's insan. the best driver on earth couldn't keep the truck half way in his own lane.

yea I've been to killboy.com several times and i love the site. he does try to encourage proper manners while on the gap. I'm going up there in a few months and was just curious about how often this happened.

Well Mr Bean please let me know when you are in so I can make it down to ride with you.
Jester your right about what you said; the weekdays are the time to go down. The weekends are a bit more interesting there. It really does depend on who goes as how bad it can get. You just never know until your there. :coolgleamA:

hell yea that would be cool to meet up for a ride. but i must warn you to make sure to ride within your skill level because if you try to keep pace with my new Harley your bike might stall out and fall over, or you could get a pretty bad cramp in your left hand from riding the clutch all day :hehe: i don't want to see anyone get hurt so make sure you wait for me at the end..
