Only interested in curves and how fast I can get through them. Saturday mornings are usually spent scouting for new roads and logging them on a map / plotting a nice route. Sunday morning is spent trying to conquer those roads. In fact, this road that I found in NY has not seen the last of me, we have a settle to score. Definitely the most hard core road I have found yet :!: If I wanted to go straight I'd own a Busa.

I like em best served sideways... hahaha with a steady throttle through on through unless it washes... then it's a feather off and a right back on.
I'm a sucker for full throttle apex hits too... 8) and when the front comes up while coming out of the lean and the bike flicks coming over the hill that goes right back down to one way or the other and you set the front back down to push it down and in while the back comes out again for a few moments of a second till you engine break at full up position to come to the stop sign... hahaha

I've been practicing higher entry speeds with less throttle through the turn till the apex seeing as that's the preffered way of slimming seconds. Higher coast speed with more static friction in the turn rather than less from the torquing of the rear tire and all the weight transfers and all.......
It is a bit more delicate with a different sense of a rush opposed to the slamming and jamming of the curves... Sharper, like zippier, I like the term vroom vroomier... HAHAHA :P

I'm no knee dragger yet, but the twisties is what i love and am trying to improve on. Favorite roads, without a doubt. Hopefully this season i can get in a couple track days to help improve as well :)

There's no greater feeling than getting a good drive out of a corner and passing someone down the straight especially when you're on an under-powered bike.

The twisties for me.

I couldn't have said it any better. YEAH! EXACTLY! except the stop sign part! HAHA!
Good one, GNT!

Ha Ha Ha good one :!: Yea thats me a 20mph er.
Gnt if youre not a writer you should seriously consider it, youve got a way with words and story telling.
When in a mild mood I like pace riding which doesnt include the moto gp everywhere I go but a good enough pace to be on the edge in the twisties.
When in a wild mood Its moto gp time, the tach never drops below about 9 grand or so. like gnt said to come out of a inside sweeper to blast 2nd gear and have the front come up before the bike even levels out and ride it to the next curve till you have to set it down and set the front for another tight sweeper. Knowing that too much throttle going throught the apex will send the back slidding or not enough will load the front and possible tuck. But just right you can feel front and rear set and digg in and rail.

Ahhh what a day of riding :)

i stabilize the suspension by trailbraking a good bit. at 205 lbs i keep the front springs compressed enough without having to upset everything with the front brake. I have found that the 954 is stable enough if you are against the tank and hangin way off with the stock suspension. I still dont feel confident as far as corrective stability to push it faster than 90-100 in 35mph curves. I pass everyone that charges fast and brakes into the turn, I pick a gear at 8000rpm, drag the rear brake in and never come off the throttle. works for me but is dangerous as hell. thank god for dampers.

I'm interested in what kind of tire pressures you guys run for the twisties and what effects you get from underinflated vs. overinflated. I would think that underinflation would give better grip but how low should you go :? ?

no lower than 26 if you still want similar characteristics as with 30-32.
If you go below that it will have a tendencie to squirl or mush and slide after a POP rather than a break loose.
Also if you run a lot of high speed runs with lower pressure your tire will bake faster due to the increase in surface are to the ground.

I personally like to run 30-32 because I like the hard surfaced feel slide. Also I like it when it skips through the turns here and ther (two wheeled)
With lower pressures as in the rippled curves that have you skip there are at times tar strips and they get Really unstable and the bike can slide up to a foot and a half in a two wheel slide there too...

I still say run down to 26 at the lowest for everyday riding.

Yeah you can go Way lower and still be rather safe but not too safe.

Play with it. You'll be happy you did for your own experience.

it all for fun.
