Dumb question, but does the black preload knob just pull off? It seemed like it was on there pretty good, thought it might be glued on? If you take it off, you can put it back on right? I am going to set the sag and then I want to pull the knob off so that someone can't just come over and turn it when I am not around. I am also probably going to mount it on the base of the resivoir insead of at the end. If anyone has done this and it hasn't worked out well for them, post up.
I've never even thought of that, was more worried someone would steal the whole bike. Most of the country folk round here just stare, drool, then converse with me for 20 mins about how fast I've gone or "back when my back wasn't hurting..." :)

This is how my adjuster is mounted.

Thread Hijack alert.
So what is that rear set. I see you have the linkage hooked straight to tranny. What's with that? I've never seen that before.

Those are Woodcrafts. Not the most blingy rearsets on the market but they are well respected by club racers. Very simple and durable construction. No need for all the moving parts that other kits come with.

Hey By-tor Make sure that the cable running from the adjuster to the shock is not rubbing on the swingarm... over time it will eat up that cover and rust.

Yeah, after I took that pic I split a length of fuel hose and slipped it over the line and held it on with zip-ties.
Good tip!

By-Tor, how long is your adjuster cord and what side is the base of it on the shock? I was messing around with mine last night, and there is no way I could set mine up like yours. It looks as though yours is attached on the other side of the shock. My hose is too short and the base seems like it is on the wrong side of the shock to do attach it like yours with out crimping the hose. These may seem like simple or obvious questions but I am still pretty new to suspension, so forgive my dumbness.
BTW, last night I noticed that the nob is attached by a little hex nut in the tip, don't know how I missed that one.

Seems that all of the Ohlins shocks are set up a bit different. The adjuster cord will come out of the shock in different positions depending on who sset up the bike and what spring is on there. I know the cord on resuscit8u's shock comes out in a different position than mine. You pretty much have to play with the adjuster and position it in a place you can live with.
Hope that helped a little.
