a case of Repsol synthetic motor oil and repsol chain lube and some repsol brake fluid.

I'll let you know what I think about the chain lube and motor oil before long.

the brake fluid is just brake fluid.

I have been using the oil for a bit now, it seems to get dirty fairly quick
I think thats good that it is holding the funk better

Its f*ing expensive, I have been kicking around the idea of seeing what Brad can do on an assload of it, I figured the shipping would make it not that big of a saving
but it would be a lot more convenient though

did you order it/shipped or pick it up locally

I got it locally, yea its pretty costly.

I talked with Brad about ordering a case or 2 and he said the shipping would make it cost more than I could get it for here.

I figured I would give it a chance, if it doesn't seem to be any better than mobil I have used before I will switch back after I use this up.

what do you think about it compaired to others you've used?

I use Mobil 1 Full Synthetic. I was told to change it every 500 track miles. If you're riding aggressive (redlining/wheelies) on your bike, you should probably change it every 1,000.

I've never changed my oil under 2,000 exceprt for break in. I don't red line too often, most of my miles are from 5 to 9,500 rpms.

I usually change it between 2500 and 3500 miles.

Change the oil? YOUR SUPPOSED TO DO THAT?????

I gennerally hit it about every three k. Maybe it should be more but im a little lazy. Ive got 17k on her now.

ive been using the repsol chain lube and like it a lot more than the chain wax.

hey truck have you ever tried the bel ray super clean?

thats what I've used for a few years and its the best I've found so far.

No i havent but since youve brought it up Ill give it a try. I dont like the build up you get with the chain wax. Once that stuff hardends its almost impossible to get off. I have to use keroseene to get it off the bike.

Thats what I figured on the shipping, I would like to buy a 50gal drum just out of convenience

I have changed so much on the bike I cant honestly say whats better.
I am pretty sure the last oil change was less than 1k miles
I keep a close eye on the oil & change it when it starts to look dirty
I dont know if thats the best way to do it or not
but its what I have always done on all my vehicles
& I never remember how many miles Ive gone...

1WHEELMAX

well the belray is pretty hard to get off too. I try to do it after a ride and spray the chain down with kerosene and it comes off pretty good but I think this repsol is going to be better.

yea I have done that on a few things I have bought but it gets to be too much money for the oil on sportbikes for me to do it.

If I had the money I would try to change it every thousand miles but sometimes I will put 700 miles on in a weekend so that would be a lot of oil changing.

I use this
http://www.cyclegear.com/images/MTX_Chain%20Lube%20Racing_210x219.jpg
I put it on after a ride, when the chain is hot...
I get a lot slinging off.
I may put too much on though & quite often, every 2-3 fuel fill ups
& don't tend to clean it often, kerosene

if Repsol is better w/ this I will switch

I am kicking around the idea of buying a bunch of oil filters
& just changing the filter @ 1k miles
then changing everything @ the next 1k...

It sounds kinda wacky to me, but I dont think its too crazy
what do youse think?

I used to buy by the 55 gal drums and that was way cheaper than quart bottles. Of course that was for the company but i dunno about repsol oil though. Id have to check on that one. To tell you the truth if your changing every 1k then regular rotella might be a good way to go. I dunno though what ever floats your boat

yep I've used that before. the bel ray stays on better than that does.

I can't speak for the repsol yet but I'll let you know.

I don't think its crazy, if you ride pretty hard its probably a real good idea.

your filter should be good for 2 or 3 changes if your dropping the oil every 1000 miles.

yea I will prob switch back
the place I have been going lately for tyres & whatever

oh yea Brad has filters at a awesome price, there strait from the factory that makes the honda filters but a lot cheaper just cause they don't have honda stamped on em. the box still says honda in small letters on the bottom thou.

The repsol chain lube isnt real heavy lube and it dont seem to build up all that bad either. I like it a lot so far but lets get through a whole can then ill let you know for sure.

thats what I used to think & practice on every vehicle,
ever since I have been driving

but a co-worker that sounded like he knew what he was talking about
was saying that your better off changing the filter...
which would be a lot cheaper, messier but cheaper

so I don't know, thats why I threw this up to see if anyone knows any better

I'm not sure what the reason would be for changing it every time. The oil your dumping out is still in reall good shape compared to waiting 2 more thousand miles. I don't know thou, it would take someone smarter than me to know the reasons to change the filter every 1000 miles.

i know i'll get a lot of odd looks from this, but i run...

Shell Rotella 5W40 Synthetic.

it's a diesel fleet oil, like Delvac-1. anyway, here is what is great about the rotella. it has zero moly in it, so the clutch doesn't slip. it is a commercially rated industrial oil with an additive package simply designed to prolong engine life (which is why it is a diesel fleet truck oil). they have an incredibly high shear resistance, which means that the bike's gearbox will not break it down and kill the viscosity over time. as a matter of fact, it is certified for 50,000mi service intervals in trucks, and has been run 150,000mi without being changed. don't try this in your bike though, because diesels have better filters in them. however, a filter only removes dirt, and does not prevent an oils viscosity from going to shit...so these long service intervals are really a testament to its durability.

i've run this oil in my three bikes for a combined total of over 15,000mi. the bikes shift magnificently on it, an d the 5W40 gives excellent pumpability when i crank them up in 20* temps. my Honda V4's, which are plaged with horrible cam oiling systems, have not shown any additional cam wear since i've started running this stuff. even without an oil mod installed, this oil halted the wear in its tracks. i swear by it. and since it is bought by the truckload by trucking companies, it is CHEAP! $13/gallon at wal-mart.

the reality is that you can really run any oil as long as it isn't energy conserving, provided that you change it often enough. your #1 enemy is oil breakdown (viscosity). the idea is to change the oil before this happens. with a conventional oil, you have to do this more often than with a synthetic (the synthetic is more shear stable).

would i run it in a race bike? probably not. but for my street riding, the shit is great.
