throwing a leg over the:
Yammer, Kaw, GSXer, Duc, Aprilla, BMW
the yammer & BMer was most comfortable
(BMW shouldn't even count though)

I could see getting a LE,
I hope all, start doing this

it would be nice to get a bike w/ half the list of things to do, already done

do you think that it's worth the money @ $18G

or would you come out spending less if you bought a stock one and then bought the goodies after

i had to make that decision with my new bike. a friend bought an electra glide standard and then added the assessories, i bought the a special edition which already has all the extra crap on it. my logic was that i wanted to ride and not spend all my time adding parts. he came out about $4000 cheaper before he started buying accessories, but if you look at the two bikes side by side you can tell that his is peiced together, atleast i can tell. it's probably the same way with the R1LE you may save a few bucks with adding to a stock unit but it's hard to match the fit and finish of a le or special edition bike. I think it just looks alot cleaner

Im guessing here

43mm Ohlins custom-valved fully adjustable inverted fork $2261

Ohlins custom-valved fully adjustable rear shock $684.80

Gold Marchesini forged aluminum wheels $1650

Adjustable rear suspension bottom link (ride height adjuster)??

Pirelli Diablo Corsa radial tires $258.95 + $163.95

Starter button doubles as lap timer control ???

shit adds up,
I bet you cant get OTD for less than MSRP though

How much does it weigh? And the next question is how many ponies does it put out?

Just dug this up

Dry Weight of regular R-1 = 381 lbs

R-1 LE comes in, 2 more @ 383 lbs.

But the wheels; "remove nearly a pound of unsprung weight."

the yammer site doesnt give any horse #'s

the 1st 2 sites I found have the same # though:
175 Hp @ 12,500 rpm*

(* Without direct air induction)

looks like the LE is the same as regular R-1 in that department

yea i remember him saying that they didn't do anything to the engine for the le. just the suspension upgrades, it comes with a shift light (i don't know if thats standard equip.) and i think it comes wit the ram air setup too..

yup, the LE has the same peaky powerband with shitty midrange that the normal R1 has.
