I have to keep my 06' outside since i live in a condo. Whats the best way to lock it down, theres nothing to lock/chain it to so I have to get some sort of anchor. Right now i have a kryptonite gargor ran through two beefy eyebolts that are about 5" in the pavement.

Get a paging alarm also!

I have the SRi-500 (I think it 500...) and love it for when mine are outside, like at the store, mall, whatever...

I bought one of these recently. It's the "BEAST" made by www.onguardlocks.com I bought the one on the left.

Looks pretty stout. To clip this there would be sparks everywhere. They would really have to make a ruckus. Buy two of these and it will be a major deterrent.

get a couple of those massive chains and put it through the wheel on your car or something.

fact is, if someone wants it they will get it. Just make sure you have theft insurance and plenty of it. How about paying @ $60 a month for a small storage shed or splitting one with a friend? Do you have a friends place you can keep it at?

I heard that a lot of these storage sheds are corrupt. I almost did that and at the last minute changed my mind because of some stories I heard.

Garages can work against you because all a thief has to do is break into your garage and close the door behind him to muffle the noise while he's working ( I think this is what happened when they stole my Gixxer in '03). Having a bike out in the open is actually better than having it concealed. It doesn't give the theif a place to work.

On my block there are these drug dealers that sit on the steps of a building across the street every night 'till about 4am in the morning smoking. hahahahaha Plus my driveway is extremely narrow. It literally takes me excess of 3-4 minutes just to get my car all the way to the back without damaging my mirrors and stuff. I still haven't perfected it and I've been living here for 2 months now.

Just chain one of these to your bike.

well apologies for my suggestion and assumption that not everyone on these boards lives in a ghetto, where the sole intent of the bad ass ganstas is to gank your bike.

retionalizing that a bike left out in the open as opposed to a garage is a better idea and safer storage??? c'mon man lol

Ill prolly go get that big-ass chain. I went and bought a scorpio alarm and have a kryptonite cable bolted to the ground so i think thatll be aight. The proble is that 4 bikes got stolen a week ago less than a mile away from me. thanks for the advice

i know a guy who has an empty holster attached to his bike. when the crook sees that, it gives him an extra something to think about....where's the pistol?

As said already if they want your bike they'll get it.

I use the layered method.

1) chain to the car (chain goes over the axle of the car and through the hole in the swingarm

2) U-lock on the front rim

3) Pager alarm

4) full-coverage insurance with a low deductible.
