Just got word that I'm going to receive my first check for $10,000 from one of the Ins companies really soon. Don't know how long it'll be for the second check and I'm not sure how much. But 10 is plenty for right now. I've been fixing the Duc with my own money.
I'm sitting on 2G's right now for the Duc. And I need exactly 2G's in parts. So I'm all good in that respect.
It turns out that my frame is bent. I can only rub my fingers down the left side of the tank, not the right. So the bike has to go to computrack. Easily $600-$1000. Then I need to have my guy paint the plastics. $300
So in total, $2,000 in parts, $600 for frame, $300 for paint. $2,900 total to get the Duc back on the road. I'll be done by July the latest.
When I get the 10G's, I'll buy some furniture for 2G's and put the other 8 toward my 1000RR. :D
Moral of the story is:
It's not about not getting knocked down. It's about getting back up each and every time you go down.
I don't consider my luck bad at all.
