My brother, a friend and I were on our way back from some great riding in Pawling NY when I pulled over to check the map. When I swung my right leg over the bike to get on, my left shoulder slipped out of joint. By then it was too late, I was committed and my momentum carried my weight to the right side and stood the bike up. Normally this would have been alright but my left arm was now useless and could not help me to balance the bike and it leaned to the right. The road to the right of the bike was at a decent grade and I am only 5'8. Long story short the bike slowly fought my best attempts to keep it upright and I lost the battle. A broken right side mirror, minor scratches in the plastics (I really couldn't give a shit), and a mildly bruised ego (there was a party going on at a house across the intersection and 6 people saw it happen. Oh well, things could have been way worse.
p.s anyone have a right side mirror for sale?

Sorry to hear about your mishap.
I have a right side mirror with some scuffing on it, you can have. You just have to pay shiping from Arizona.

Wish I could pip. Both shoulders slip out of joint. Doctor told me three months in a sling after surgery and three months of very limited use and therapy. Six months with use of only one arm. Then I can do the next shoulder. Thats one year with use of one arm and I'm self employed and work with my hands. What really sucks is that about 6 months ago my right knee has been giving out. 27 and I have the joints of a 70 year old. :x

Well let me make you feel better. About 6 weeks ago I pulled a major squid, and decided to testride a 04 aprilla factory millie. Not being used to how the throttle comes on a lot slower than a 4 I was pulling out into the highway and stalled it right over the drain so when the bike listed it came over on my bad legg and I couldnt hold it and dropped it onto the highway. I reinjured my legg and have been paying for it ever since. Talk about embarrased. This past saturday the aprillia dealership was having a ralley where the factory reps were there, and guess what the topic of the day was, you guessed it, youres trully. Luckly I didnt go over there or I wouldve had to of slithered away from embarrasment. Hope that makes you feel better.
Oh crap now turbo has someone to pick on :!:
