I finally got around to taking my side reflectors off my front fender, but when I took the right one off I noticed that the fender was cracked where the screw came out of. What is the best plan of action to repair this. Should I take it to a place that can do plastic welding and just get it fixed that way? Any other ideas?

get a do it yourself fiberglass kit from the automotie dept at walmart
and cut a piece of fiber just a little bigger than the crack as looked at from the backside
then with a small paint brush put some resin in that back area that was properly mixed hith hardener and then lightly push the fiber into the resin mix with a knife tip, putty knife or something pointy all over the place until the fiber is against the plastic
maybe apply a little more resin mix with the brush over it all again to make it smooth
let it cure then trim what you need to with a dremel or something
you can also sand it if you want,
then paint it with some touch-up paint

It cracked because you tightened the bolt down to tight. I cracked both sides of mine! I did what BLDR said and it worked great. I also put in a slightly longer steel tube for the bolt to go through so it tightens down onto that and not the plastic. No more problems.

Upon further inspection, the whole bottom part of where the bolt goes is cracked and fell off. I need a new fender. There are none on ebay. Any clue where I could get a cheap one?
Older, where did you get your longer steel tube for the bolts?

if it's on the back part on the fender, i had that problem as well, and i never jacked with those. they broke on mine before i did anything to em. that wasn't an isolated incident......happened to every 954 i rode with and heard about it alot on the boards.

That's interesting. I always figured it was my fault for tightening the bolts down to much. Maybe it wasn't my fault....
Anyway, I found the steel tube at a hardware store. Home depot, I think. Took a bolt down with me and found a length of tube that would work, then cut it and included them in as part of the repair. The bolt tightens down on the tube and not the plastic. Prolly the way Honda should have done it to begin with...

Ya it is on the back part of the fender. Is there any solution to do on the existing fender or do I have to shell out cash for a new one? The only thing I can thinkg of is to get some \one to fabricate a new hole so that the fender can be bolted down. Right now my fender doesn't have the bottown half of hole.
Any ideas?
