I picked up one hell of a sponsor today. Normally I don’t mess with the sponsorship thing cause it’s just one great big huge hassle that you never get a whole lot out of unless you’re top notch. But this guy does some awesome work and I’ve heard nothing but good things out of him and he is going through my entire engine for nothing but his cost on the parts. Normally works on quads, dirt bikes, and drag bikes but he wants to do a road racing bike.
Fixing my trani, polishing, balancing the crank, redoing the fuel injection, porting and polishing, new valves, everything all for a few hundred bucks. Considering his reputation in the area, the R1 should be one balls out rocket ship when he’s done.

nope. said he'd have the engine out, done, and back in the bike in about 3 days. he has a few other guys working for him and said he would do this himself. said if things go well he'll have it ready to ride by next weekend.
and he doesn't know i'm moving to wisconsin. and i'm not telling him. i'll still put all his info on the trailer though. he's a super nice guy with one hell of a set up in his shop. he can turn and balance cranks, port, bore, anything and everything right there in his shop. he's even got a little set up to make his own pistons. the guys the shit from what i can tell.
lord knows the bike needs the work anyway. 2nd gear is trashed and the header pipe i just put on a few months ago is cracked again in the same spot. something ain't right there.
