gonecrazy 10-24-2006, 05:40 PM Jim you having some sort of going out of buisness sale..You have sold everything except the house
Truck 10-24-2006, 06:06 PM Yea and thats next:urfunny:
gntbldr 10-24-2006, 07:33 PM Yea and thats next:urfunny:
nonononono. I lose the house my parents are out on the street
working on a refinance loan on the house to get a minivan from a buddy of mine and pay off some doctor bills.
just I have been on disability pay since 6-1 and it was 1,000 less than what all my bills are a month (had a budget set up for a side job and overtime, can't have either on disability)
so after all my savings were depleted I've been selling things here and there to make ends meet.
well, 3 weeks ago my disability checks got cut almost in half.
you think you've seen a few ads here and there you should see my local forums! LOL
computers, fridge, kitchen sink :rofl::rofl::rofl:
last surgery on 11-8 and then about 4-6 weeks I'll go back to work at my new position making a take home almost double what it was before I crashed. It'll be worth the wait. I'll have an index finger that can operate the clutch solo again like It used to. :D :D :D
gntbldr 10-25-2006, 09:35 AM have a guy I know asking me if I'll do a deal
Hey man, I completely understand the need for money. Sorry to hear
about your situation, I hope it all ends well for you. My big problem is
that I have forced myself to not finance toys (which the XR400R
definetly is) to try and keep me out of finacial trouble. I best I can do is
the CB350 + $1,000, I just don't have the money for any more (and I
probably shouldn't be doing this either). I understand if this doesn't
work for you, no hard feelings what so ever.
Later,
Kris
Here are a few pics of the CB just to throw out there.

gntbldr 10-25-2006, 09:35 AM what say yous?
gntbldr 10-25-2006, 10:02 AM I asked if it runs and if there's anything I should know about?
Runs like a top, starts all the time. I put a new front tire on it
because it still had the original. It has 5,000 original miles on it.
The only thing I can think of that is questionable is something in the
fuel system does not seal quite right. If you let the bike sit for weeks
with the fuel petcock on there will be some weeping around the carb
bowls. It could be just the fuel line or a carb bowl seal..I haven't
taken the time to look into it. The tank isn't perfect, but could be.
Needs some cleaning and putsin' but everything is there. Guy put new
chain and sprocket on, new clutch, and had the carbs cleaned and setup.
It's all stock right now.
resuscit8u 10-25-2006, 12:12 PM do it. I used to collect the CB/CL350 Hondas. That one is a great example!
gntbldr 10-25-2006, 01:04 PM proposed a counter offer.
waiting a reply. :D
Truck 10-25-2006, 03:40 PM That bike is worth 1K? Really!!! Im going to start buying them up around here thats a 200 dollar bike:)scratch my head in disbelief:thumbsup:
gntbldr 10-25-2006, 03:53 PM when I saw pics of it it all clicked.
I have a budy that ws looking for a cheap little bike hardcore back in spring and he sent me a few links that had that bike for sale on ebay and not as in of good of shape as the one in the pics above.
they were selling for WELL over a grand.
I had that gt550 3cyl 2stroke that I sold because of money and also a friend of mine really wanted it. kinda wanted to keep it as a retro ride for nostalgia. this would be a cool bike as a spare ride so if my 600's all track prepped I'd still be able to run errands for cheap AND look cool (imo) at the same time! hahaha
vt954 10-25-2006, 07:59 PM I don't want to sound like your Mom Gnt, but isn't the point of selling the XR to get cash? Just something to think about. If your trying to cash out, trading may not be the best bet. Although, maybe you can trade, put a little love into it and sell it for more. That would be the best bet. Then once your finances are straightened out in a while, buy that spare bike you want. Just a little devil's advocate for ya!
gntbldr 10-25-2006, 08:30 PM I'm feelin you vt.
come spring I am sure the cb would get me more than the thousand bucks of the trade it is.
I need 1500 bucks to tie me over. just sold one of my computer systems, and am selling my shop fridge tomorrow night. by the way it looks I will be able to squeek by.
I have the xr for sale on thumpertalk right now and haven't closed the ads out elsewere,, so I am actually seeing which deal comes in faster and I'll take it.
so far this is the first and only offer.....
I'm hoping the appraiser comes through tomorrow so I can get my refinancing on the way and get a lil extra that way too. if that happens and this deal doesn't happen by then I'll withdraw the ad and keep the bike.
I love this bike. it's PERFECT for trail riding!
vt954 10-25-2006, 08:36 PM I hope it works out for you. That is a great bike. I have been thinking XR for next year. Just curious, what do you think about a 400 for street duty? Is it enough motor? Just thinking to register it and then use it to commute, plus get to the trails. Is it similar to a DRZ power?
BTW -- I know how you are feeling financially. I changed careers with the expectation that in 8 months I would be back to my old salary, but it was a 10K pay cut to do it. It is starting to catch up now with only a few months to go. Sure does suck though. I'm just lucky my girl has a decent job and can help support me for now. Otherwise, I would have to sell off everything too. It'll be worth it in the end! You'll have more and better toys in no time.
gntbldr 10-25-2006, 08:41 PM :D that's just how I'm looking at it. also cutting off dead weight.
Glad you have a great gal too. you deserve one.
the xr.
is all bust and balls through 3rd gear. after that it's a weak ass pos.
topspeed with stock gearing on sandy trails was around 60 on my gps.
other than that it handles stuff I thought I'd need a 125 2stroke to do and other times it handled stuff I thought I'd need my buddy's ktm450 to do.
best of both worlds in the below 45mph range
vt954 10-25-2006, 08:46 PM Cool. That might work. Would def work for my commute to work. Only about 3 miles at 30 mph. I can make it all the way in first on the 954. Sucks... I try to bicycle it but that sucks too! It's almost as fast as driving though.
Sounds like it would be comparable to a DRZ. My dual sport buddy has one, so that is all I really need. Thanks for the input.
gntbldr 10-25-2006, 08:49 PM you betcha
btw, just at this moment... the guy backed out. says it's an awesome deal, he just ran into needing to move soon. says he's spreading the word and trying to get one of his friends to buy it so he can buy it from them in the spring when he's more financially stable.
ohh well
it's the way it is for some reason or another...
vt954 10-25-2006, 08:54 PM No doubt. Did you see the XR650R on thumpertalk for sale a couple days ago? Sick bike. It was motarded out, with all dirt stuff extra. Had an Ohlins fork from a Canondale. Crazy bike. $3500! So cheap. But no money to buy.... very sad. Timing is a bitch isn't it?
gntbldr 10-25-2006, 08:55 PM there are sooo many nice bikes for sale on there !!
sure is. LOL sometimes she's a real sexy bitch that actually puts out too! hehehe
vt954 10-25-2006, 08:58 PM Man I can't wait until I have money like Turbo! Oh the fun I'll have!
Courtjester 10-29-2006, 12:17 AM oh, and after you sell yours i'll throw mine up here.
but,
i love 1000rr.com
gntbldr 11-16-2006, 11:03 AM Hey everyone, check out this shit!
the emails go in reverse order so scroll down and read up.
Ok, and I don't like to hear that the procedure you are trying to buy my bike with is an example of the latest scam that is going around.
Either you comply with my request of a certified check of $2000 made out to me in my name and have the bike picked up or there is no deal. Period.
Whatever check you say you have coming my way for $5500 will be returned to the sender for I want this deal handled legitimately or not at all.
I have reported this transaction to Thumpertalk and they are investigating it also.

Eric, I don't like the deal the way you have it going with that check thing.
Unless you can send me a check for $2000 written out in my name and there after have someone pick the bike up I do not want to do this deal with you.
