I’m pretty sure these forks will fit the 954. They are the same as the Showa 43U witch will fit our triple and others. This is a good chance to get them for less than 2K. Not sure about the lower mount and the axel crossing over, anybody know?

well the 1000RR uses radial-mount calipers...so i'm going to say no for the 1KRR.

but i bet you could get new lower parts put on if you really wanted to.

yea I don't understand why these things are not more interchangeable
I mean if its the same diameter to fit in your triple,
then get the correct brake caliper adapter...

I have been told the RC-51 wont fit the 954,
I am sure I demanded a reason why
but I don't remember what was said
I think I was suspicious that it was BS

Let me offer up a site I look to for comparison. It looks to me like the only differences between the two bikes OE fork setup is the original install spring rates, witch are custom on the Ohlins (190lb) anyway.

I ride Honda dirt bikes too, and the big fork tuner there is Race Tech. If you go to their site and look for parts for both bikes (RC51/954 02) forks it gives you the parts list for both bikes. It says they are the same Showa fork, Showa 43U (for the 1000rr as well). That means it will fit our triples. The lower stay is the ? here. I assume it’s the same to cut the over production costs of producing two mass produced bikes at the same time. Honda is a pretty bright company.

But, it you have to purchase the lower stays, it probably becomes cost prohibitive. Their still fun to look at,,understand,,, lust over,, I love those things!

On second glance it may not work. Honda has 2 different part numbers for the 954 and rc51 forks.

PN and fiche for RC51

PN and fiche for 954

I suspect that they would not work after all.

The fork tube is the same 43mm so it will fit the triple.

The front axel is the same part number, so the wheel will go on.

The front brake sets look like the same part numbers except for the model desiginations on the end.

I belive these would bolt right on. IMHO

the only real difference is the size of the rotors. everything else should work

if you wanna run those on your 54 then you need smaller discs, 330mm down to 320mm and either find a 51 front wheel or change out the bearings in your 54 front wheel. outside bearing dia is the same but it's differnt size for inside dia.

also this will lower the front just alittle, I believe the upper part of the fork is the same but I've been told the slider tub is shorter.
