Well, I think I'm ready for a proper Dyno tune now. I installed my full Arrow system on my bike last night. I had to wait until today to re-flash my Power Commander and ride it. The Arrow system is very nice. I picked it up new in the boxes on ebay with all the mounting brackets for 399.00 dollars/US what a steel!

As I was installing everything I noticed the exhaust down the left side of the bike was touching the faring, also the far left header pipe is touching the inside foam padding of the faring. Well I rode it for about 6 miles and melted the bottom just a little. Luckily the header didn’t burn through the foam.

My question is this. What do I do to fix this? Do I take the faring off and try to adjust how the exhaust goes together, to get it more compact, or do I buy thermal wrap.

I would go with the thermal wrap, try to adjust the setup also. Post some more pics man. that looks really good. Let us know the dyno figures.

Got it all squared away this weekend. I reinstalled the whole exhaust and then heat wrapped the entire system under the bike. I also put two layers of heat wrap on the headers that are touching my fairings. All I can say is my bike is running very well! I rode it to work this morning. When I got here I reached down to feel the side of my fairings and they seemed fine. We'll see when it gets hotter later in the week. I'll post some more pics..

are your headers titanium or stainless? titanium will get brittle over time being wrapped.

i had this prob with my Akra on the 1000, so i got some aluminized heat tape and lined it along the inside of my fairing along the pipe and have had no issues since.

I'm pretty sure its all stainless. I'll verifiy on Arrows website. Awsome pipes though. Thats great advice! Hey, going to LSTD at MSR April 30th? Tom emailed me this morninig about working it.

Take a Dremel tool and trim the damaged part, it will look ok. wee

I will give that a try! With all the heat wrap you cant even see that anymore really. I have 50ft of black heat wrap running the entire bottom of the bike.
