I recently got into an accident with my '04 gsxr600 and it was totaled. (the accident was not my fault) I am looking for a new bike and the 954 caught my eye. maybe an '03? I was wondering what is so great about the 954. What seperates it from the 1000's?

well I had 2 2002's a an absolutely AWESOME bike! Had the last one not get stolen I would STILL have it! :(

But with that being said, you said you had a 600, well the 954 is ALOT of bike! It has alot of power and is a wheelie MONSTER!

Would I recommend it, no! But I wouldn't recommend any literbike. But I do love it!

It's an awesome motorcycle!

I would however recommend the 07 600RR as I am really enjoying it! :D

My 954 is my first bike. I love the thing. But like mentioned above it has allot of power. And it will put you on your ass if you dont respect it.

There's a reason that Sport Rider magazine has had it on their website as their header for the past 5 years. Check it out at: http://www.sportrider.com/

Just look though all the numbers, weights, and spec's of all the bikes on the Sport Rider website. It's one of the best production bikes ever built.

The 954 is a great looking bike better than most of the new bikes in my opinion. It weighs as much as a 600, but has the power of a liter bike. The bike can keep up with liter bikes. Again it has freaking balls and if your ready for that then buy it. If you can't than try out another 600.

Well not to step on anyones toes but i recently rode a new 1k and i can tell you that the 54 doesnt have the same get up and go that they do. I would consider the 54 a very strong running 750 or even more than that but not a liter bike. However I will say that since Miguel dumahel put the clip ons in your ears the 54 is a lot more comfy to ride. They both have there ups and downs but the 54 is a curve carver that can hold its own up agains almost anything.

The drawbacks with the 54 is:
1. NEEDS STEERING STABILIZER!!!!!
2. Needs rear shock
3. Needs forks completely redone.

Once those items are done its a dangerous opponent.

One thing about the power of the 1k is i found that i had to work to ride it in the twisties a lot more than the 600rr that i rode and the supermotard. By the way in the tight curves the motord was the funnest to ride of the bunch at a whopping 42 ponies.

Just check out gnts videos in the vid section and youll see what i mean.

Patiently waiting on the 2008 1K. Then I’m going to figure out what I'm going to do. My wife’s 600RR is so much fun to ride (2005)! It’s hard not to consider the 2007 600RR as a bike to consider. I admit it, I went and checked one out a couple of weeks ago…

I bought an 02' 954 for my first ever bike and I love the power. You control the power, you should never let the power control you! I'm doin just fine with the 954. Next year 1000RR for the win!!
