06 1000rr engine blown!!!!!!!!

I was riding on the highway witha a few buddies and after some spirited riding I slowed down to 80 MPH and blue smoke poured out of the back and the engine light came on and no more engine! After we pulled over I could see oil pouring out a 2" x 2" hole in the front of the engine case....yikes!!

I have only owned the bike for 3 weeks and only put 300 miles on it. I bought it used form a bike shop locally AS IS!!!!!!
After talking to the ASSxxxx @ Honda factory NOBODY is willing to help. The 1 year warranty was up in April and now I am in need of a motor that will work. It is a killer looking bike but my first Honda......I am not real impressed with the Honda product! Has anybody had a similar experience with theirs or be able to tell me what year engines that will fit the 06 1000rr???

Please help!

Thanks

Sounds like a blown ring, did the bike have a pipe or anything on it? I've tuned some 1000RR's and I've only seen blown rings when the motor is running to lean and it gets beat. Best bet might be to rip into it, and see how the pistons and cylinder walls look. cylinder walls being the more important thing if both are ok then just a new set of rings which isn't much money but the labor is gunna kill ya!

Sir, with all the respect. If oil was poring on the ground, more than a ring has expired.

Re: 06 1000rr engine blown!!!!!!!!

Sorry about your engine, but before you go around bashing Honda, what do you know about the history of the bike prior to you owning it? How many miles were on it? THere is a good chance someone abused it and sold it before the damage showed. I'm not saying Honda is flawless, but a major engine malfunction on a used bike can be attributed to how the person before you treated it. Other than a bad stator, which was covered under warranty, I haven't had any problems and haven't heard of many (if any) engine failures that weren't a result of mistreatment. I bet you would have better luck if you bought one brand new or from someone you know who takes care of their bikes. Good luck in finding a used engine.
