Blown Engine !

So the other day, I noticed that i had a bad knocking noise , coming from my engine. I had a 2004 Cbr 1000rr, with 31,000 miles . I took it to a bike shop . Blown rod , not to mention it was in a crash . Dont ever let a friend drive your stuff. I know .... But i did .Damage was around $4000 to fix. I went inside the dealer ship told them what happend to the CBR. They offered me a 2006 ZX-10 zero miles . I Traded in my damage CBR for $4000 and the balance for the ZX-10 was $4,500 . Fun while it lasted guys

Re: Blown Engine !

The new Kawi's are supposed to have the best brakes in their class. Looking at those front rotors I dont wounder why! The only negitive I've read about those bikes is their weight respective to the other liter bikes in its class. Not sure I could have bought one that wasnt Kawi Green though. You'll be back with Honda, theres no way around it! : ) Nice bike!

Re: Blown Engine !

I have ridden my friends 06 ZX-10R many times and it is a fun bike to ride, however, I still get a bigger grin on my face with my RR. I didn't like the 10R in the turns, it doesn't hold a line very well and doesn't lean well either. At least in my opinion and compared to my RR. (Can you tell I'm a Honda guy?!? )

I am not trying to knock down your new buy man, its a good bike and super fast in the top end with it's long gearing!!!

Have fun!!!

Re: Blown Engine !

Well what i know about the 10k is that its all balls but beyond that you need to do a lot of susspension work to get it to handle. Also everyone that i know says the brakes are the worst one on a liter bike but i dunno. That is comming from three riders that i ride with that has them. On a good note though I hear that once you do the set up on them the carve just fine you just have to have good throttle controll.
Anywho they are a real nice bike though. Certainly a MONSTER!!!
