After searching the net I found nothing but heat gun, soldering gun and adhesive repairs. The use of heat didn't really turn my crank as heat can distort the plastic. The adhesive (glues) you had to order as I could not find any at the local hardware stores that worked.
This is what I did. I bought some ABS cement (the type that glues the black ABS plumbing pipe together) and a small peice of ABS pipe from the hardware store.
First I used a burr bit on the end of a drill to vee out one side of the crack. You can use a dremell tool, file or sandpaper. Then you wipe the surface down with acetone to clean it. Get yourself a tooth pick and put some cement on the crack. Then I get a peice of wax paper and file the peice of ABS pipe to make shavings. Then I add some cement to make a paste, not too thick not to runny and add that to the vee'd out crack to fill it up. Once this is done do the same thing to the other side.
Now all you have to do is prep and paint. Remember do not over tighten your plastics!
